Terminology

We try to make things as easy to understand as possible, but just in case…  Here is a glossary of terms, in the eCommerce, Marketing and SEO world. It’s always growing. ALWAYS. And hopefully, we’ll always make it easier. Always.

eCommerce: is a transaction of buying or selling online. Electronic commerce draws on technologies such as mobile commerce or electronic funds transfer.

Google AdWords: an online advertising service developed by Google, where advertisers pay to display brief advertising copy, product listings, and video content within the Google ad network to web users.

Marketing: activities of a company associated with buying and selling a product or service. It includes advertising, selling and delivering products to people.

Organic Search: listings on search engine results pages that appear because of their relevance to the search terms, as opposed to their being advertisements.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization): a marketing discipline focused on growing visibility in organic (non-paid) search engine results. SEO encompasses both the technical and creative elements required to improve rankings, drive traffic, and increase awareness in search engines.

Social Media Marketing: the use of social media platforms and websites to promote a product or service.

Twitter: A microblogging/news social media platform.
