Hello. My name is Darrin Marion. Yes that Darrin, the coffee shop guy. Well at least that is how I’m known in a number of circles. Now, I do SEO. I believe that I do REALLY GOOD SEO.
Back to coffee…
You see, for the past 7 years of my life, I have been in the world of coffee. At one point I owned THREE different coffee shops. One in Zionsville, on Main Street and another in Clermont, and the third shop was on E. 10th Street. As you can probably guess, I went crazy pretty fast. I actually ran the Best Coffee Shop in Indianapolis in 2016 and 2017. We were Runner-Up in 2014.
What’s most fascinating is that I built my business up from a Whirly Pop Popcorn Popper in my kitchen. What helped me get there? SEO. REALLY GOOD SEO. When I started roasting coffee in my kitchen and selling at various Farmers Markets in the Indianapolis area, I knew that I had to do something in order to make myself look like one of the big guys. But I didn’t know quite how.
Well, where is the first place that most people go if they want to learn a bit of information? Google.
My search led me to take a LinkedIn class on Digital Marketing. One class turned into two. Two led to three and four and so on. Before I knew it, my little local Indiana coffee roasting company began to rank nationally for some very difficult keywords.

Running coffee shops can be enjoyable, trying, tiring and lonely at the same time. You get tired of working 90 hours a week making latte’s, mocha’s and cappuccino’s. It was at that point, I decided to form Ratel SEO. Now at Ratel we are one of the top SEO firms in Indianapolis.
